Come on in, the water’s fine. The same is true for the mind. We tend to think that meditation is about controlling the thoughts, and forcing stillness. In fact, meditation is about gently settling our attention so we can observe and eventually welcome whatever waves arise—even the rough ones. In this series, we’ll explore various methods that help us familiarize ourselves with the nature and function of our own minds.
