Transcending Hate: Meditations in Honor of Martin Luther King Weekend

This meditation retreat in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday invites us all to work towards world peace. Meditation is easy to learn and has a profound impact on our daily experience. Integrating meditation into our life helps us deal with everyday experiences of conflict and anger. The retreat will include talks and guided meditations with plenty of time for questions. No meditation experience is necessary. Everyone is welcome.

Part 1: The Beauty of Inner Peace – 11am-12pm
The practice of meditation is a method that enables us to experience and strengthen our inner peace. It is easy to learn and has a profound impact on our daily experience. Join us to explore how it can become our daily foundation for inner growth and transformation in the coming year. With a reservoir of peace in our own mind, we can become a beneficial presence in this world, directly and indirectly influencing others to develop a beautiful, powerfully peaceful mind.

Part 2: Practicing Non-Violence & Skillful Action – 12:30-2pm
In part two of our retreat, we will engage in some meditations on love and wisdom that will allow us to move clearly, wisely and compassionately through our world, inspiring others, and defusing conflict with non-violent activity of body, speech and mind. Integrating meditation into our everyday experiences not only improves the quality of our life but also equips us to make a valuable contribution to the lives of those around us.
