Let Us Put Your Mind at Ease

Answers to Frequently-Asked Questions
Do I need to have experience in meditation or Buddhism to attend classes?

No, all you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your life.

How should I dress for class?

There is no special clothing needed for these meditation classes. You will be sitting comfortably on a chair or cushion. Dress comfortably.

What is the format for each class?

General Program classes are classes that are open to everyone and usually begin with a guided meditation. The meditation is followed by a 40-minute teaching on an aspect of the series topic for that month. After the teaching there is usually another brief guided meditation as well as a question and answer period.

Do I have to wait for the next series of classes to begin?
No, please feel free to drop in whenever you like. While some of our classes stick to a particular monthly topic – with each class building upon the previous class – attending the entire series of classes can be highly beneficial. But it is not necessary to do so. Each class is taught in such a way that if you only attend one class, you will derive benefit from it.
Do I need to bring anything with me?

No, you don’t need to bring anything with you, except an open mind. Some people choose to bring their own pillows or cushions, which is fine, but each one of our centers has cushions and chairs to choose from. When you arrive at any one of our centers, you can check in at the front desk to pay the class fee, and then proceed to hang your coat up and take off your shoes before making yourself comfortable in the meditation space.
