Love, Through the Eyes of Wisdom

Why is saying goodbye and parting ways from those we love so difficult and painful? Usually it’s because the delusions of desirous attachment and self-grasping ignorance are present in our mind, preventing us from saying farewell with a happy mind. We dwell on the gaping hole their absence will leave in our life, what we’ll be losing and missing out on, rather than rejoicing in all we’ve shared together. Rather, if we begin to appreciate the beauty and preciousness of another person and our relationship with them, without grasping at either one as a true source of our happiness, then an authentic inner peace naturally arises from within our heart. When we use wisdom to purify our love, we start relating to others at a much deeper level, recognizing their ultimate nature, and by doing this, we’ll no longer feel separate from them. We’ll finally experience the deep, profound connection we’ve always been longing for.

This will be Kadam Holly’s final Sunday general program meditation class. We will then enjoy watching a special KMC-LI 20th Anniversary commemorative video together and be reminded of all the joyous effort that has gone into creating our center by many different people, and marking some of the major developments during the past 20 years. After the video, we will move to our backyard garden for a celebration with food and music. At this time, you will have an opportunity to bring a gift and say farewell with deep gratitude to Kadam Holly.
