Join us for this new series in which we’ll learn the basics of how to meditate and how to set up a daily practice. Meditation is easy to learn and can have a very positive impact on our lives. Everyone is welcome – you can join the class at any time.
Part 1: The Basics & The Benefits of Meditation (3 classes) – What is meditation and how do we do it? How do we gradually improve our ability to meditate? How can we incorporate it into our life? How can it help us deal with the stresses and problems of daily life? We will answer all of these questions and have the opportunity to try two guided breathing meditations in each class.
Part 2: The Power & Potential of our Mind (3 classes) – We will learn a simple meditation called Clarity of Mind. Through practicing this meditation we can experience the peace that comes from allowing our minds to settle and become still. As we continue to practice, our concentration will improve and we will discover our potential to experience deep inner peace.
Part 3: Inner Transformation & The Benefits of a Steady Practice (3 classes) – The practice of meditation gives us the ability to change in a deep way, at the heart level. We’ll be exploring a series of simple but life-changing Buddhist meditations called “Lamrim” (the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment). These meditations can become our daily foundation for inner growth and transformation. Each week we’ll learn about and be guided in one of these meditations that, over time, will lead us to deeper experiences of freedom and joy.
