2020 Online Northeast Dharma Celebration

Sept. 11-13, 2020

Buddha Shakyamuni Empowerment & Teachings on Making Our Meditations Powerful

Registration opens Monday, August 10 at 2pm (EDT)

The 2020 Northeast Dharma Celebration is now online allowing everyone to join in with hundreds of fellow meditators throughout the Northeast United States in receiving empowerment, listening to teachings and meditating together.

The focus this year will be in making our meditations more powerful, focused and joyful, so that we will naturally enjoy our spiritual training, engage in it more effectively and consequently experience its beneficial results quickly.

To help us accomplish this, Kadam Morten will grant the blessing empowerment of Buddha Shakyamuni. An empowerment is a blissful and imaginative guided meditation that allows us to recognize clearly our spiritual potential and empowers us in our practice. In particular we will deepen our connection to Buddha Shakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism in our world.

In the ensuing teachings Kadam Morten will give a practical commentary to the brief practice Prayers for Meditation. The commentary will explore topics such as how to best prepare for meditation, how to improve our contemplation, how to have the meditation touch your heart, how to meditate with blessings and how to integrate meditation into daily life. Applying Buddha’s teachings to our life is the best way to solve our own and others problems, but we need to know how to do so effectively.

The Northeast Dharma Celebration provides a precious opportunity to study, listen to and practice the special presentation of modern Buddhism taught by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, the Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition.
